Trick or Treat? Halloween 2005

Halloween celebrations started early as Avery and her entourage attended her daycare (aka school's) celebration. In true Londt form, Avery quickly moved past the healthy treats and went straight for the inch-thick iced cupcake. She had a good time and Grandma Londt gave the school an A+.

After a nap that bordered on hibernation, both Avery and Papa were ready for the candy competition. As dusk settled over the Live Oaks, the pitter-patter of little feet on the dried leaves could be heard. They approached the porch with apprehension due to a keenly positioned Frankenstein! But fear did not detour them in their quest for the handfuls of treats that Raggedy Ann was so eager to share.

A wonderful time was had by all, especially since we have candy left over!!

Let the Celebration Begin...

To gear up for Fall and Halloween, we decided to attend our church's fall festivities. It is a wonderful time and really focuses on the young ones and the young-at-heart. There were games, a cake walk, free burgers & dogs and about a million kids dressed in costume. Avery enjoyed it and so did PaPa, Grandma and, as Avery would say, "Gandma Dortea"!

The Great Pumpkin Search

What is Halloween without a pumpkin? We set out on the search for the Great Pumpkin. Our journey took us to a local establishment where pumpkins of certain breeding and girth could be found (only the best for princess Avery... HA!). We located the prize-winning candidate, gently carted into the truck and placed it in the garage for later carnage.

Unfortunately, the sugar-coma induced by the "sampling" of the Halloween treats made us all forget about the carving. Alas, the Great Pumpkin lives!!!

New Baby McGinley

Mom, Dad and Grandma Dorothy all came down to enjoy a "Florida Fall". They brought along a few gifts for Avery Jane, which she has loved since she laid eyes on them: a new baby and a bed. She loves the doll, which she has named "Baby". She has positioned the bed, which was handpainted by Grandma, in her room so the baby can sleep. Too cute.
